Thunder Alley started in 2001 by Rob Jackson when his son, Levi, started racing his RC10. It was called Wide Open Raceway located within the Noble Creek Park in Beaumont, California. Mike Daughtery and his father wanted to take over and invest into the facility. They changed the name to
THUNDER ALLEY R/C RACEWAY
.

The district moved the track to the Northern part of the park, because it was under high power voltage lines. It was a great piece of land, but due to the closeness of new homes being built and complaints, Thunder Alley had to relocate a second time before opening to the public. This time to TA's current and permanent location. Riverside County has acknowledged Thunder Alley as a racing facility.

In September 2006, Mike and his father parted ways with Thunder Alley. Rob then formed a partnership with Rick Hernandez up until 2009 to keep Thunder Alley going and improve the racing facility. Improvements included: an enclosed announcers booth, covered driver's stand, concrete floor on West pit area, pit tables with lights and electrical outlets, upgraded pit lane with concrete, expanded track fence line 12' to increase the track racing area, installed a handicap driver stand, installed 1000W stadium lights.

Thunder Alley has become the premier test track for manufacturers and racers alike, as well as hosting many events and can accomidate 200+ racers with 24 full RV hookup sites.

Currently Rob and his son, pro driver Levi Jackson, work together to keep Thunder Alley in peak condition with the hottest track layouts and race program in Southern California.
